Banff Mountain Film Festival – Kolkata Edition

The Kolkata Section of The Himalayan Club is delighted to host the Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour on 8th February 2026 at Mahajati Sadan, beginning at 5:00 PM. This much-awaited annual event brings together the finest mountain films from around the world, celebrating adventure, exploration, and the enduring spirit of the Himalaya.

This year’s programme will open with two special sessions featuring distinguished authors and respected members of the mountaineering community:

• Nandini Purandare, President of The Himalayan Club, along with Deepa Balsavar, will speak about their acclaimed book The Sherpa Trail.
• We are also honoured to welcome Vineeta Muni and Divyesh Muni, who will present a synopsis of their book Across the Himalaya: First Traverse by Women.
