The Himalayan Club announces ‘Project Nepal’

The massive earthquake measuring 7.9 on Richter scale that struck Nepal at around 11.56 am on Saturday, April 25, 2015 left most of us numb struck. What can one say to a nation where the dead are just a number that keep swelling every time you switch on your TV?

To understand the extent of damage and loss of lives is hardly possible yet as remote villages, not connected by motor roads have been destroyed. The road network that exists is devastated, landslides have cut off villages, and relief planes and rescue helicopters are doing their best to save lives in the circumstances. However, this is the beginning of a long hard battle; a tough test for a nation and in fact humanity. The Himalayan Club stands by the people of Nepal in this dark hour of tragedy.

Please join us as we work out a plan for rehabilitation. The nature of support will be long term rehabilitation, once the magnitude of damage caused at different locations unfolds. Visit our website for updates.

Please donate generously for this noble cause. Send your cheques and contributions to the address mentioned below, made out in favour of “The Himalayan Club”.

All donations to the Club are eligible for deduction under 80G of the Income Tax Act.
