The Great Himalayan Range is source of water for major rivers of South Asia and is identified as the 3rd pole. The high mountains, with thousand of glaciers have been the abode of Rishis and place for meditation for spirituality seekers for hundreds of years.

The majestic snow clad peaks give the heavenly sight to anyone exposed to the mountain range. As the sun dips and cobalt blue sky turns into stark black canvas, the thousand of “stars” appear from nowhere and fill the canopy above us. These are not only stars but various objects like planets, nebulae, galaxies, etc which have been not seen by many of us from the cities we have come from.

Mr. Bhimani, Treasurer of the Himalaya Club will take us to these heavens by an audio-visual presentation.

Kedar would like to talk on his Nature & Wildlife photography during winter of Ladakh around Changthang plateau. (Average altitude is around 14000 feet, with maximum altitude around 17200 feet and 10000 feet is lowest altitude.) During last 8 years, he has collectively spent little more than 100 days across the years in sub zero temperatures documenting wildlife and frozen landscape of Changthang.
