The Himalayan Club Annual Seminar 2016

Dear Friends,

The Himalayan Club will host its Annual Seminar on February 13 - 14, 2016 at the Dadar Matunga Cultural Centre, 122-A, JK Sawant Marg, Opp. Bombay Glassworks, next to Yashwant Natya Mandir, Mahim, Mumbai, Maharashtra 400016. [See map here]

There is an exciting line up of speakers - the Seminar will commence on Saturday afternoon followed by the HC Annual Dinner and end on Sunday evening.

On Saturday we will hear a great alpinist, Martin Moran, UK deliver the Kaivan Mistry Memorial Lecture followed by Stephen Alter, author of the book, Becoming a Mountain and winner of the Kekoo Naoroji Book Award. The Jagdish Nanavati Award Ceremony will also take place. The evening will end with a presentation on the Himalayan Club Sherpa Project.

On Sunday morning we will have a seminar titled Mountain Safety, Accident and Rescue, with speakers such as Martin Moran, Divyesh Muni, Motup Chewang, Wg Cdr Amit Chowdhary, Dr Raghunath Godbole and Harish Kapadia covering different aspects of accidents on the mountains and how to deal with these emergencies. Concluding the proceedings will be a panel discussion, along with an interactive session.

The Himalayan Club contributory dinner (Rs. 1500) will give us all an opportunity to interact with the speakers and members of the HC. It will be held at 8.00 pm at the Citylight Banquet hall within Citylight Cinema premises at L J Road, Matunga, Mumbai.
