Delhi section talk: Becoming a Mountain - by Stephen Alter



Stephen Alter is the author of fifteen works of fiction and non-fiction. His honours include a Guggenheim Fellowship and a Fulbright Award. He was writer-in-residence for ten years at MIT and directed the writing program at the American University in Cairo. He is founding director of the Mussoorie Writers’ Mountain Festival. He resides with his wife in Mussoorie, India. On November 13 Stephen Alter launches his new book, published by Aleph titled 'Becoming a Mountain'. He will also deliver an illustrated talk talking about a series of treks and climbs in the Himalaya that he undertook in the aftermath of a brutal attack he and his wife suffered at their home in Mussoorie. The book describes both a physical and a spiritual journey that explores the healing power of high places.
